How do we do this?

Simple: One fibre optic connection converges all of your services, yet presents them on their own separate ports within your building using an Ethernet Demarcation Device (EDD).

The fibre optic connection comes in to your building and plugs directly in to the EDD. From there you can channel each of your services separately with their own secure connection. This brings many benefits such as:

• Secure separation of services
• The ability to set performance parameters to each service/application (QoS)
• Simple addition of new services and applications.

The EDD also provides us with critical information in the unlikely event that your network should go down. In such rare cases the EDD will send us a ‘dying gasp’ message containing key information about the cause of the outage – if this happens our engineers are on the phone to your IT department usually before they even know there is a problem.
